Police say a Corpus Christi man is facing steep charges after he resisted arrest and assaulting his neighbor.
Corpus Christ police responded to a fight around 6:00 pm Saturday evening in the 900 block of Park Avenue.
According to police, they arrived at the location and saw a person yelling in the street and making accusations against his neighbor. The Neighbor showed officers video from his cell phone of what lead up to the argument and a fight and concluded the person making the allegations was the aggressive person.
Officers say they tried to place the man in handcuffs and 32-year-old David Maldonado allegedly fought back against officers and resisted arrest.
Officers told their supervisors Maldonado appeared to be intoxicated and they withdrew the tasers and fired. Additional officers arrived on the scene to place Maldonado under arrest.
Police charged 32-year-old David Maldonado with assault by contact and resisting arrest.
