Investigators are trying to find out who killed a local married couple overnight.
There have been no arrests in the death of Arturo and Miriam Lopez, and that just adds to the shock and grief that’s hanging over the Balchuck Lane neighborhood located in the London area of Nueces County.
The couple was found dead inside their home just after 1:30 a.m.
The Nueces County Sheriff’s Department hasn’t released much information on this case.
What we do know is that this was originally called in as a possible murder suicide.
Investigators could be seen going in and out of the house this morning, carrying bags of evidence and taking pictures.
The Corpus Christi Police Department and the Texas Rangers are also helping with this investigation. Even the District Attorney was at the crime scene earlier today.
“In this one, and in a few others, and in many others, we go out there because we want to see what happens when the crime occurred; not wait until six months later down the road when we get it,” Nueces County District Attorney Mark Gonzalez said. “It’s kind of a little too late.”
The sheriff’s department held a brief news conference this morning, but did not take any questions.
