The woman suspected of living in a box truck with her children appeared in court.

On Friday afternoon, Lisa Long was given a court appointed attorney after she told the Judge David Stith she couldn’t afford one. The 48-year old is being held in the Nueces County Jail on a $6,000 bond.

She was arrested for child endangerment Monday, after police got a tip that a family was living in a rental box truck. Two adults and three children were in the truck when police found it at a convenience store on Prescott and Gollihar Road.

Child Protective Services is also looking into the situation.
