The man accused of killing Breanna Wood will appear before a judge Tuesday.
The suspect is 26-year-old Joseph Tejeda. He was already in the Nueces County jail on an unrelated charge when he was charged with Wood’s murder. Wood had been missing since October 2016 after last being seen at a store on Tancahua Street.
Her body was found at an abandoned house near FM 666 and FM 1833 South of Bluntzer last Tuesday. A jail inmate who claims he was paid to get rid of her body led detectives to the scene.
An affidavit says, Tejada shot Wood in the back of the head, then broke her arms and sexually assaulted her. Tejeda will meet with the judge at 11 a.m.
His bond is set at one-million dollars.
