Corpus Christi Police are investigating the death of a young woman after her body was found near Bluntzer.

21-year-old Breanna Wood went missing in October, after last being seen at a store on Tancahua Street with a 25-year-old man.

Now, after months of searching for her, a tip from a Nueces County jail inmate has led them to her remains. CCPD Detectives interviewed the inmate on Monday and he told police that he had been paid to dispose of a woman’s body.

The next day, that same inmate took police to a piece of abandoned property near FM 666 and FM 1833 South of Bluntzer. There, they found Wood’s remains.

The medical examiner has not yet released how exactly she died and there have been no arrests in Wood’s death. The inmate involved in the investigation is back in jail on unrelated charges.

Police are still looking for her killer.
