AUSTIN, Texas — Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has been selected as the closing keynote speaker for the Texas Tribune Festival.
The three-day event will be held in Austin from Sept. 26-28. It is one of the largest nonpartisan gatherings of elected officials, policy experts and community leaders in the nation.
Pelosi will close the 2019 festival with a one-on-one keynote conversation with Evan Smith, co-founder and CEO of The Texas Tribune. That event will take place at the Paramount Theatre on the Sept. 28.
Among other featured speakers at the festival include U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas; 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Julián Castro; Washington Post columnist George F. Will; U.S. Rep Will Hurd; U.S. ambassadors to the United Nations Samantha Power and Susan Rice, U.S. Sen. Amy Kobuchar, D-Minnesota; and Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman.
