CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Some relief could finally be on the way for some Westside Neighborhoods that are prone to flooding during heavy rain.
The area is around Greenwood and Saratoga.
La Volla Creek runs through that area and it's prone to flooding and sewage overflows from the greenwood waste treatment plant.
In Dec. of 2019, the General Land Office approved a grant to build a detention pond that will help with the flooding problems.
A public meeting will be held tomorrow, Jan. 23 to inform residents about the project.
That meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Greenwood Senior Center.
