The North Beach Task Force may be in jeopardy.
Late this afternoon Mayor Joe McComb sent out this email to city council members saying he was closing the task force.
That group was created by the city council back in April 2018 to spur development in the North Beach area, as well as come up with solutions for the drainage issues in that area.
Last month the council approved an ordinance that will allow developers to build a canal in that area which is expected to fix that drainage issue and ignite development in that area.
In his email, the mayor cited that work and congratulated the task force for completing their task.
Task Force Chairwoman Carolyn Vaughn is not happy with the mayor's decision, and has vowed to fight. She told KRIS 6 News "one person can't dissolve a committee created by the council."
