BEEVILLE, Texas — An internal investigation is underway at the Bee County Jail after an inmate was mistakenly released on Wednesday.
That inmate, 29-year-old Ernest Ramirez, still hasn't been found.
Ramirez served his time in jail for a misdemeanor. But after he was released, jail officials realized there was a hold related to a federal drug charge.
Bee County Sheriff Ronnie Jones says they do not have any reason to believe the suspect is a danger to the public or armed.
The federal detainer is for a drug charge, which is a non-violent offense.
