CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush will address the 2019 United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Salute to the Military luncheon Thursday in Corpus Christi.

A native Texan, Bush was first elected Texas Land Commissioner in 2014 and was overwhelmingly re-elected in 2018, receiving the second highest vote total of any candidate running statewide. Commissioner Bush is the grandson of President George H.W. Bush, the son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and the nephew of President George W. Bush.

“The Salute to the Military event provides the opportunity to support our local military installations and the active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families that call our community home,” says John LaRue, United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce President & CEO. “This event also enables us to publicly recognize the collaborative efforts made by our community business leaders, elected officials and military leaders as we work together to strengthen the military environment in South Texas.”

Proceeds from the Salute to the Military event provide support to the South Texas Military Task Force. This working committee of the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to preserving, protecting and expanding the missions of South Texas’ Military Facilities.

The luncheon will take place Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center, 402 Harbor Drive.
