CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Since its founding in 1927, the Corpus Christi branch of the American Association of University Women has worked to empower women in our community. They are part of a national movement that organized in 1881 and continues in groups across the country today.

Among its varied activities, the local AAUW membership participates in a number of projects and programs, including their book sale. This allows the group to promote literacy, support Corpus Christi libraries and offer scholarships to local college students.

The next AAUW Book Nook sale will take place Thursday through Saturday at the Neyland Library (1230 Carmel Pkwy.) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Books will be offered in dozens of categories, with many in like-new condition. Rare finds and collector’s items will also be available.

For additional information, contact Betty Maroney at (361) 991-4612.
