CORPUS CHRISTI — It's going to be a long summer. Hot and humid weather will hold fast for most of the week with highs slightly above normal. Afternoon Heat Index will hoover around 106 to 108 so anyone working outdoors should take precautions with the heat. Strenuous work will lead to heavy perspiration and possible exhaustion.
Tropical Weather system: Here is a long term " heads up", Current computer models predict an area of low pressure developing off the coast of Florida this coming weekend. The "European" model then takes that low to the west over the Gulf water which could lead to some strengthening. Possible tropical storm? It's a bit too early to call it but we will be watching it's development for the next seven days.
