CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Those who want to help impact the life of a child in foster care can do so this month by simply donating a pair of new shoes.
The ‘Give Them Wings’ Shoe Drive is a partnership between Mattress Firm and Foster Angels of South Texas.
Now through Aug. 16, send foster children in our area back to school in style by dropping off a NEW pair of sneakers or school shoes at any one of several locations throughout our area. The shoes will then be distributed to CPS offices allowing foster families and caseworkers a week to shop for their foster children before school starts.
Foster Angels of South Texas strives to give foster children a sense of normalcy, while meeting basic needs through requests. Throughout the year, these requests can be items like clothing, car seats, bedding, tutoring or a recreational class. The ‘Give Them Wings’ Shoe Drive is intended to promote a healthy lifestyle, allowing kids the opportunity to be a participant during PE class.
Shoes may be dropped off at any Mattress Firm in Corpus Christi, at the Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay, Stellar Energy Solutions or at the Security Desk of 1 Shoreline Plaza. Sizes needed range from Toddler 10 to Womens 10 and Mens 14.
