CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — What better way to get ready for Halloween than with a trip to a haunted museum?

This Saturday and Sunday, the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History (1900 N. Chaparral St.) will host two events – one that is family-friendly by day, and one that is a bit more scary by night.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, “Mad Scientist” (G-rated) activities include trick-or-treat stations, scavenger hunts, chemical reactions, slime making, creepy-cool sensory exploration and science shows.

Then, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on both days, the museum will appeal to braver explorers (PG-rated) with a scarier shipwreck-themed haunted maze in the outdoor pavilion, and chilling stories of the ghosts of the 1554 Silver Fleet and the La Belle shipwreck in the darkened museum.

Both day and night events will include howling hot dogs, spooky iced tea, warlock water and magic Moon Pies included with admission (while supplies last).

Regular admission prices apply during the day ($10.95 adults, $8.95 for children 3-12, $7.95 for senior citizen and those with a military ID).

The evening event includes the haunted maze with admission of $15 per person for non-members and $10 for members or groups of 10 or more.
