CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Bay Area Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (BACALA) will host its 16th Annual Luncheon at The Ortiz Center (402 Harbor Dr.) on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Former U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy will be the guest speaker.

Before serving four terms as a South Carolina Congressman from 2011-19, Gowdy was an award-winning federal prosecutor for 16 years. Among his prosecuting of a full range of crimes included narcotics trafficking, bank robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, child pornography cases and the murder of a federal witness.

In January of this year, Gowdy returned to his beloved South Carolina to practice law, teach classes and speak on legal issues he considers important to our country.

Previous year’s speakers at BACALA’s annual event have included economist Ben Stein, talk-show host Laura Ingraham, Ambassador John Bolton, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Dr. Benjamin Carson, Judge Andrew P. Nopalitano, Senator John Cornyn, Governor Mike Huckabee, Ann Coulter, Court TV commentator Catherine Cryer, presidential advisors Karen Hughes and Karl Rove, Colonel Oliver North and correspondent John Stossel.

Tickets are $150 and may be purchased at www.bacala.net.
