CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Each year, folks from across the area look forward to the return of Oktoberfest to Trinity Lutheran Church (808 Louisiana Avenue). And why not? It gives everyone the opportunity to pull out the lederhosen, dirndls and festive hats!
The year’s festival is happening Saturday from 5-9 p.m. and it promises to be everything locals have come to expect – and more.
Once again, live music will be provided by the Majek Polka Band in the Biergarten Tent. Those who attend can also count on there being several craft and novelty booths, as well as an area for kids featuring a bounce house, a train, face painting and games with prizes.
It’s all free for any child under 12 accompanied by an adult.
And who can forget the food? Lots and lots of food. A la carte food booths include bratwurst, big yeasty pretzels, potato salad, desserts and German beer.
In addition, pre-sale food tickets may be purchased for $13 and include admission and a German food plate with schnitzel, potato salad and sauerkraut. Call the church office for pre-sale purchase at (361) 884-4041.
New events this year include a cake walk and a stein-holding contest.
Admission is just $3 for adults.
