CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The YWCA will conduct two events later this month that will benefit the community.

YWCA board of directors member Sharon Lewis discussed the upcoming activities with KRIS 6 Noon Anchor Paulo Salazar.

The Institute for Public Leadership will sponsor the Real Women Run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 25 at the Texas A&M University-Corpus University Center. It is a non-partisan workshop that will teach students civil and political involvement, engagement and personal branding.

The event is free and will include free food and drinks.

And on Saturday Sept. 28 at the YWCA Corpus Christi offices at 4601 Corona Drive, the YWCA will sponsor the Institute for Public Leadership. It is a program with an intensive curriculum detailing campaign management, running for public office and women who are interested in issue advocacy.

It is intended as a non-issue/non-partisan workshop that will provide guidance for women interested in running for office and for potential campaign managers.

Tickets for the event are $15 and there is limited seating. For more information contact devywca@ywcacc.org
