CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local rescue group is asking for your help saving stray dogs.
The non-profit "Shelter a Mutt," group has been saving dogs in the Coastal Bend for two years.
The group takes care of stray dogs by taking them to other rescues across the country.
They've gone as far as the Canadian border, New York, Wisconsin, and Colorado.
Just last year they took in a thousand dogs and sent them to other areas.
Shelter a Mutt is asking for donations of heartworm pills, flea and tick treatments, spays and neuters.
