CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Coming up in November, World Diabetes Day will be recognized.
In conjunction with the day, there is an event happening Friday night at La Palmera Mall.
Delia Martinez with the Texas A&M University Coastal Bend Health Education Center describes Por Tu Salud health fair and walk with KRIS 6 Noon Anchor Mike Gillaspia.
The walk begins at 6 p.m. at the La Palmera Mall Center Court. And a health care will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday
Team members include a pharmacist, an exercise physiologist, a certified diabetes educator, a registered dietitian, a registered nurse and a community health worker.
The event also includes free health screenings, free flu vaccines, cooking demo, education, diabetes bingo, a free prize raffle and physical activity
