CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Heritage Park hosted a celebration of the vegan lifestyle.
At Veg Fest visitors learned all about the benefits of going vegan.
Now in its second year, Veg Fest featured vendors from across the state, peddling their plant based wares.
Organizers say there are similar festivals across the country and they wanted to bring one here.
Volunteer Sonny Rodriguez told us, "We had a handful of volunteers that wanted to put one together that all live here in the Coastal Bend. we put a good year in to planning and getting all of the vendors we needed."
The event is growing. Organizers say last year they had 1,300 people attend Veg Fest. This year they are looking at 2,000 participants.
