FRIDAY

Fiesta de los Niños benefits Driscoll Children's Hospital

Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s 28th annual Fiesta de los Niños is coming to the American Bank Center this weekend.

Get ready for fun, food, and music this Friday, Jan. 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m..

The list of attractions includes a live auction, silent and bid board auctions via mobile bidding, a barbecue dinner, and entertainment by country music artist Josh Abbott Band.

Driscoll Children's Hospital's largest annual fundraiser event is sponsored by Flint Hills Resources. All proceeds from the event go directly to the hospital.

Brujita popup at local soap shop

A local soap shop is hosting a Brujita pop-up event this weekend.

"Calling all Witches! Come by and see what I've got for you!" their event page says.

The magic starts at 10 a.m. this Friday, Jan. 24, and ends at 5 p.m..

Archer Soapworks & Apothecary is hosting the event at 1702 S Alameda St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78404.

Cards and cash will be accepted at the event. Check out their event page for additional information.

City's xeriscape symposium Saturday at Del Mar College

If you have a chance to re-do your landscaping, the city is hoping you will consider xeriscape.

They will be hosting a xeriscape symposium this weekend.

Joanne Salge discusses the upcoming event with KRIS 6 Meteorologist Maclovio Perez.

The symposium takes place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Del Mar Center for Economic Development, 3209 S. Staples Street on the campus.

Admission is free.

Magic and science unite: local museum hosting Wizarding World of Science

The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History is hosting a one-of-a-kind event for Harry Potter fans.

The museum's website promises a "club-like feel" for adults. Cosplay is highly encouraged.

"This is an adult appropriate event where cosplay is encouraged," the website says. "Cash bar will serve Butterbeer, beer, wine, and other mixes!"

This magical event happens 6-10 p.m. Saturday.

There will be plenty of whimsical activities for local wizards to enjoy.

"Go down Diagon Alley and search for your wand, join classes in astronomy, charms, potions or divination! Be wary of the Mirror of Desire!" their event page says.

Tickets are $20. But if you buy 5 tickets online, you get one free admission. Bring your whole quidditch team!

Tickets will also be sold at the door, but organizers encourage pre-purchasing them online to avoid lines.

The Corpus Christi Museum of Science is located at 1900 N. Chaparral St.
