CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you took a drive along the bayfront this weekend, you probably noticed a sea of flags decorating some of the city's parks.

They are there for the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi’s “Flags for Heroes” event.

Because of expected inclement weather, tonight’s event has been moved to the chapel at First Baptist Church, 3115 Ocean Drive, beginning at 5 p.m. today.

For $50, anyone can sponsor a flag to recognize someone important in their lives.

That includes military personnel, first responders, teachers and others.

The flags for heroes will be displayed along the bayfront until Sunday.
