Since 1956, Flour Bluff firefighters have been giving back and celebrating the holidays in a special way — with their annual Community Christmas Float.

Every year, firefighters with Nueces County Emergency Services District 2 ask residents to donate leftover Halloween candy to be made into gift bags for children during eight days of celebrations.

Firefighters held numerous Fill the Boot events and were able to fill 9,500 bags of candy for area children. The department and volunteers placed the candy in gift bags and will hand them out from their float, along with Santa, for 8 evenings straight, beginning on Dec. 9 from 6 – 9 p.m.

A full list of routes are posted below. Be sure to look for our Paulo Salazar on the float with Santa on Dec. 11!
