Runways aren’t just for airplanes and fashion models anymore.

On Nov. 17th, one of the runways to airplane traffic at the Corpus Christi International Airport will be closed for a couple of hours so that you, your family and your friends can come out and experience something really unique!

The CCIA and the USO of South Texas will host a 5K Run/Walk and a 1K for the kids. This run will be like no other you’ve experienced before.

In addition to the run, there will also be an aviation expo of sorts, complete with a variety of different kinds of aircraft for kids and adults to see up close. This event is not just for runners and walkers – it’s for families who are always looking for something fun to do.

Runners who register for this event will be helping the USO of South Texas continue to help military members and their families who are serving our nation. If your organization would like to help the USO and sponsor this event, please contact Sarah Banta at sarah@usosouthtexas.org.

There will be medals to the first 500 to complete the race and guaranteed t-shirts to the first 500 who register. They will also have 12 age based categories for the competitive run and awards to the top 3 finishers in each age group, male and female. There will also be an award to the top Male and Female.

There are no tickets for this event. Registration can be completed by clicking on the link below.

Please note that in the event of bad weather or a forced cancellation for any reason, there will be no refunds given out.
