Stop the Traffick 5K

Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry behind illegal drugs and gun trafficking.

The Texas Coastal Bend Border Region Human Trafficking Task Force compiles different departments across the state of Texas to help combat and prevent human trafficking. A few of these departments are Homeland Security, Internet Crimes Against Children, Texas A&M- Corpus Christi and many more.

Here- Dr. Cathy Miller, Co-Founder of Texas CBBR Task Force, explains what it is the task force does and why it’s important to people in our community.

Special Agent Brad Scott is part of the Homeland Security office here in Corpus Christi, TX. He explains how parents and the everyday person can protect themselves from human trafficking.

Here, Rubi Tamez and Abigail Reinhardt are interns with the task force and have the main information for the 5k happening at Cole Park.

The task force want educate, bring awareness and offer support to those that are victims of human trafficking.

To bring awareness, the task force is holding their first 5k at Cole Park on October 20th beginning at 8 a.m.
