Seniors in Rockport have a new tailor-made health care option designed to decrease the time they spend in the waiting rooms and increase the time they spend with their doctor on any given visit.
After Hurricane Harvey hit the Coastal Bend, many local medical clinics were forced to close their doors. The MCCI Medical Group was only closed for 6 days.
“After Hurricane Harvey we treated anybody that came; we weren’t checking ID cards, we saw it as an opportunity to serve the public and help with the recovery,” said Conviva Care Solutions Regional Director Stephen Johnston.
The facility currently serves more than 7,000 active patients which is the big reason behind the medical center’s significant investment.
“As part of the repairs from the damage from Hurricane Harvey, we went ahead and did a complete renovation of the clinic as well as adding an activity center for seniors 55 plus for anybody in the community. It’s a part of our model of preventive care for seniors,” said Johnston.
Their commitment to Rockport has only strengthened since Harvey.
“We were formally MCCI Medical Group. We merged with 4 other companies similar to us in other states so a new brand was created called Conviva Care Centers. We took the opportunity with the grand opening both at the Bayside location and Town and Country Shopping Xenter and the grand opening in Rockport to unveil the new brand to the community,” said Johnston.
The senior medical center’s mission is simple.
“We just want to grow and see as many patients as we can. We want to take care of folks and give them their best health,” said Johnston.
