CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Brother and sister Lucas and Emma Godines shared the Dawson Elementary School first grade spelling bee contested at the school.
The Godines had a fierce battle before the competition ended in a tie after a draining 19-round competition that took 1 hour and 40 minutes.
KRIS 6 News Chief Meteorologist Dale Nelson served as the pronouncer in the Dawson competition.
