CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Valero and the Corpus Christi Police Athletic League invite you to the Lonesome Dove Ranch for a very special fundraiser.

The 9th annual Charity Dove Hunt and Skeet Shoot will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the ranch, which is near Old San Patricio.

Corpus Christi Police Chief Michael Markle and Patsy Benchoff of Valero will visit with KRIS 6 Noon Anchor Paulo Salazar about his year’s event.

The event will feature dove hunting, skeet and trap shooting. It will also be feature all you can eat and drink. There will be a raffle for a Kubota 4WD Diesel Utility Vehicle RTV-X1140 4-Seat Camo with ATV tires.

Last year’s event raised $161,000. And since its inception, the event has raised more than $1.2 million for the Corpus Christi Police Athletic League.

The program was started in 2003 with a mission to utilize athletic, recreation and educational programs to help prevent and reduce juvenile crime. About 4,500 children participate yearly in CC-PAL’s numerous activities like basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, martial arts and tutoring.

DIRECTIONS: From downtown Corpus Christi, go north on IH-37 and take FM 624 exit. Go west on 624 about 9.6 miles and then turn right on FM 666. Go down about 3.7 miles and take a right on McGloin. Lonesome Dove ranch is 1.7 miles down McGloin.
