The fun continues at the Rialto Theater (327 S. Commercial Street in Aransas Pass) as they get ready for their newest production, “A Year with Frog and Toad.”
Nominated for three Tony Awards – including Best Musical – the performance is based on Arnold Lobel’s well-loved books and features a hummable score by Robert and Willie Reale.
This whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons.
Waking from hibernation in the Spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique.
Part vaudeville, part make believe — all charm, “A Year with Frog and Toad” tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.
The jazzy, upbeat score bubbles with melody and wit, making it an inventive and enchanting musical for the entire family.
The theater opens at 6 p.m. and the production will begin at 7:30 p.m. on May 31 and June 1, 7, 14 and 15.
You can also catch matinee performances at 2 p.m. on June 2, 9 and 16.
There will be a special noon performance on June 8 only.
Tickets are $10 for those 12 years and under, and $15 or $20 for adults. They are available online at www.rialtotheater.org or at the box office.
