The CHRISTUS Spohn Foundation is getting ready for the 2019 Lyceum, featuring former United States Senator, Alan Simpson.

The respected Republican from Wyoming enjoyed a successful political career during which he served as Co-chair of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, a bipartisan group looking to erase the nation’s multi-trillion dollar debt.

Simpson is also the Co-founder of the Campaign to Fix the Debt, a non-partisan movement to put America on a better fiscal and economic path.

Formerly the director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Simpson is expected to provide his audience with anecdotes, humor and cutting-edge commentary on politics, the media, Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid reform, the economy and much more.

The proceeds from this year’s Lyceum will help support “Our PATH Forward (People & Actions Transforming Healthcare)” and the CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline Interventional Radiology Department.

The Interventional Radiology physicians and team provide the residents of South Texas with innovative, minimally invasive treatments and lifesaving diagnostic skills. It is medical care that allows patients to receive state-of-the-art treatments in Corpus Christi instead of having to travel out of town.

The CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Lyceum will take place on Tuesday, April 9 at the American Bank Center.
