The People’s Poetry Festival returns to Corpus Christi this week.

Now in its fourth year, the festival will once again allow those who participate to experience the world of poetry through a range of topics that include nature, spirituality and women in history. Respected writers from across the state join locals in celebrating the diversity of thinking that is often best expressed through poetry.

Thursday panels will gather at Del Mar College (3209 Staples St.) in Room 10.

On Friday and Saturday, the panels will be held at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (6300 Ocean Dr.) in the University Center Bay Room 320.

As in past years, there will be an Open Mic Night. It will take place Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Graffiti’s Downtown (417 Starr St.).

All events are free and open to everyone.

This festival is sponsored by the Department of English and the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Del Mar College, the Coastal Bend Writing Project, Tail Feather Press, and the Islander Creative Writers.
