Since 2013, GROW Local South Texas has been the leader in the local food movement in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend area, and they are once again looking to grow their number.
From the beginning, the group’s mission has been to grow a healthy, local community by improving access to, education about and advocacy for affordable, nutrient-dense foods. They have not only tried to encourage the number of points where consumers can get locally grown fresh produce, but have also encouraged restaurants to use local ingredients grown in local gardens.
Funding comes from memberships, individual and corporate donations, private foundations and public grants.

- The Learning Garden
- BAWKtoberfest, backyard chicken coop tour
- Annual Farm-to-Table Dinner
- Living Local Summer Camp with Youth Odyssey
- The Educational Beehive

GROW Local South Texas is currently accepting applications for BAWKtoberfest 2018 from Corpus Christi homeowners with backyard chicken coops who would like to appear on the Backyard Chicken Coop Tour & Fundraiser.
