The importance of water safety is difficult to overstate, especially when it comes to children.
That’s why Coastal Bend swimmers took to the water on Saturday, each swimming in honor of a child who has drowned.
The Swim-A-Thon was held over at Corpus Christi Natatorium, to raise funds for Colin’s Hope, a non-profit group started in remembrance of a 4-year-old who drowned in an Austin public pool.
The money raised by the swimmers will go towards buying life jackets and providing swimming lessons through the charity.
