Locals gathered to sample some craft beer on Saturday as area breweries served up their finest brews.

The 2nd annual Corpus Christi Brewery Festival highlighted Coastal Bend brewers over at the Art Center of Corpus Christi on the bayfront.

There, a wide variety of locally crafted flavors were available starting at 3 p.m., with doors open until 10 p.m. What’s more, there was no charge for entry.

"We have all the breweries with the beers that they’ve brought to serve. We have eight different breweries and about 40, 45 different beers," Cory Mathews, owner of Lazy Beach Brewing, said at the event.

Alongside the drinks, there was also a small fleet of area food trucks, "all from here in town, serving up some delicious cuisine." And of course, local music.

Organizers said the festival is all about supporting local businesses and expanding the craft beer culture in the Coastal Bend.
