It was a fishing adventure for youth over in Robstown on Saturday, and along the way, there were plenty of tips on how to preserve and protect our water supply.

Local kids of all ages gathered in Robstown for the Water Awareness Day event, which corresponds with World Water Day, a global initiative to focus on water conservation.

The event was hosted by Nueces County Water Control and Improvement, who had plenty to teach about how to conserve water. For younger children, simple tips like turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth. For elder youth, tips about how to help protect one of our world’s most vital resources.

It wasn’t all about education, however, with plenty of fishing and other activities for visitors.
