CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Finally a break in the heat wave with a rather active weather pattern this week.

First, the ridge of high pressure has moved west. And secondly, a rare July cool front is moving into the state.

All this will combine to give us a good chance of showers this week.

Today, we could see isolated showers. Tuesday and Wednesday, we'll see a few heavy showers as the cool front stalls in the region. More showers expected over the weekend.

Today: Partly cloudy with isolated afternoons showers. High 90.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and a few heavy thunderstorms. High 90.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers. High 88.
Thursday: Partly cloudy with scattered showers. High 88.
Friday: Partly cloudy with an isolated shower. High 88
