A hairdresser says she was assaulted by one of her customers after giving him a haircut.

Eric Elizondo’s 59-year-old mother, Norma, has owned and cut hair at Friendly’s Hair Cuts near Ayers Street for 20 years.

But Norma could not be found at her salon Thursday.

That’s because on Tuesday, her son says she was robbed and attacked by one of her clients, just moments after giving him a haircut.

“She has a busted lip, and the side of her cheek is all busted up,” Elizondo said.

Norma was pushed to the ground and hit several times, then her client demanded several of her personal items and cash, according to a police report.

“Her Jesus ring, they also took her Samsung phone, her car keys -- they tried to steal her car, but the guy didn’t know how to turn it on,” Elizondo said.

Police believe the man who reportedly attacked and robbed Norma is between 30-35 years old, between 5-2 and 5-5 ft. tall, and weighs around 175 lbs., and has a receding hairline.

Elizondo said his family doesn’t care about the things the suspect took, but rather that he’s caught and taken off the streets.

“I don’t necessarily want to see harm come to this guy," Elizondo said. "I just want him put in jail and take responsibility for what he did and serve his time,” said Elizondo.
