CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — These are the latest coronavirus numbers from around the Coastal Bend.

10/11 updates:

5:38 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting seven new cases for a total of 20,797reported cases since March. Of those patients, 20,114 have recovered, while 63 remain in the hospital.

4:03 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District is reporting one COVID-19-related death Sunday. This brings the total number of deaths to 427. The patient was a man in his 80s with underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

12:56 p.m. - Two Hebbronville High School employees and one student have been confirmed to have COVID-19, the Jim Hogg ISD reported Sunday. The district said in a release that contac tracing will begin, and those found to have been in contact with the patients will be informed.

10/10 updates:

5 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District confirms 7 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday. This brings the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic up to 20,790 with 20,103 recoveries.

County-wide, 61 patients are currently in the hospital with coronavirus, 26 of which are in intensive care.

4:30 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District confirms one COVID-19 related death Saturday of a man in his 70's.

This makes the total number of coronavirus deaths for the county 426.

2:30 p.m. - Saturday, the Flour Bluff Independent School District confirmed a student's positive COVID-19 test.

"In keeping with Flour Bluff ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that a student who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 was present on the Flour Bluff Campus on 10/08/2020," said a press release from James Crenshaw, Flour Bluff High School Principal.

The district says they have made sanitation efforts after the incident and have decided to not disrupt face-to-face instruction.

"Close contact is defined as being within six feet of an infected person for a duration of 15 minutes, while not wearing a mask; or directly exposed to infectious secretion such as a cough or sneeze. The identified affected areas of the campus have been cleaned," said Crenshaw's release. "Due to the minimal exposure risk; face to face instruction will not be disrupted."

The district asks families in the district to inform their physicians of any possible COVID-19 symptoms and to report any lab-confirmed COVID-19 tests to the school nurse at 361-694- 9188.

The name of the student will not be released due to privacy concerns.

10/9 updates:

5:20 p.m. - County officials announced 16 new local COVID cases on Friday, pushing the pandemic-wide total to 20,783.

During the pandemic, 2806 Nueces County patients have been hospitalized, including 60 of those currently in the hospital and 22 of those in ICU. Nueces County officials confirms that 20,093 local COVID patients have recovered.

4:28 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District announced two more COVID-19 related fatalities on Friday, pushing the pandemic-wide total to 425.

The patients were a male and female with their ages ranging in their 50s and 60s. The comorbidities of the patients included hypertension and diabetes.

3:46 p.m. - Jim Hogg county says it remains at 141 total coronavirus cases Friday.

3:45 p.m. - Duval County confirmed that they lowered their case numbers by 2. They now report 461 total cases.

10/8 updates:

4:34 p.m. Nueces County reported zero new deaths Thursday and 22 new cases. The county has now had 20,767 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

4:16 p.m. Aransas County reported 335 total cases Thursday, while San Patricio County reported a total of 1,501 cases.

3:48 p.m. - No new cases reported in Jim Wells county Thursday.

3:48 p.m. Live Oak County reported one additional new case Thursday, a case in the community. It has reported 213 FCI inmates and 219 are community members.

3:57 p.m. The Jim Hogg County Emergency Management Team reports 25 positive COVID-19 cases among nursing home residents. Among these 10 have recovered, three are hospitalized and one resident has died.

Additionally, 18 employees of nursing homes within the county have tested positive for COVID-19. Among these, five have recovered.

10/7 updates:

Jim Wells County reports 2 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, making the total number of cases 1,541 Wednesday.

Wednesday, Duval County and Jim Hogg County reported no change in coronavirus numbers since Tuesday.

8:20 p.m. Live Oak County reports a total of 431 cases. Of these cases, 213 are inmates. The county reports an additional nine COVID-19 related deaths Wednesday.

Their comorbidities were not released.

4:20 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health confirmed two COVID-19 related deaths Wednesday. The patients were 2 males with ages ranging in their 60s and 80s.

Their comorbidities included diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and hypertension.

10/6 updates:

Jim Wells County reports 1,539 total coronavirus cases Tuesday.

San Patricio County reports 1501 total coronavirus cases Tuesday.

Aransas County reports 335 total coronavirus cases Tuesday.

Duval County reported 462 total coronavirus cases Tuesday.

Jim Hogg County reports 113 coronavirus cases, the same as Monday.

4:08 p.m. - Nueces County reports two new local COVID deaths on Tuesday, pushing the current pandemic-wide total to 421.

County officials report both patients were residents of Nueces County but died in another jurisdiction during the months of August and September. The patients were male and female with ages ranging in their 40s and 50s.

10/5 updates:

San Patricio County reports 1501 total coronavirus cases Monday.

Aransas County reports 335 total coronavirus cases Monday.

Duval County reports 459 total coronavirus cases Monday.

Jim Hogg County reports 113 total coronavirus cases Monday.

4:53 p.m. - Nueces County officials report no new local COVID deaths for a fourth consecutive day. The county's current pandemic-wide fatality total remains at 419 on Monday.

The county reports 11 new COVID cases of Sunday, upping Nueces County's pandemic-wide COVID case total to 20,707. The county reports that 2,806 COVID patients have been hospitalized during the pandemic, including 68 currently in the hospital and 29 of those in intensive care. The county indicates that 19,966 COVID-19 patients have recovered.
