CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Two Latchkey summer camp sites temporarily have closed their doors after employees tested positive for COVID-19.
The Lindale Senior Center is one of those sites.
The last time the positive employee was at that location was on June 24.
The employee did have contact with children at the facility, and parents are being asked to isolate their children for two weeks.
“Parents have the option, you register your child or children one week at a time, or even up to a couple of weeks," said Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department Public Information Officer Lisa Oliver. "So in the event that the site is closed, they do, the parent does receive a refund. Since we are planning to reopen that site as well, then they can use that as a credit.”
The Lindale Senior Center will be deep-cleaned and sanitized before its reopen date, which currently is set for Monday.
The other center is the Oso Recreation Center.
An employee there tested positive over the July 4 weekend, and may have had contact with some of the children in the program.
Those parents also are being asked to isolate their children for two weeks. The center will be deep-cleaned, as well, before it reopen July 20.
The latchkey summer camp program will end on July 30.
