The Port of Corpus Christi has increased its port readiness status to Hurricane Condition 4 (Tropical Hazards expected within 72 hours), in accordance with its 2018 Hurricane Readiness Plan.

It comes as the port continues to closely monitor possible impact scenarios for the developing tropical system, projected to head northwestward from the Gulf of Mexico.

As part of Hurricane Condition 4, the Port of Corpus Christi is engaged in general readiness activities in coordination with surrounding communities, industry partners and state and federal agencies.

All Port of Corpus Christi users shall immediately adhere to the requirements and recommendations set forth in the most recently issued United States Coast Guard (USCG) Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB 28-18), which advised all vessels and facilities to begin planning to take preventive measures in advance of the storm.

“The Port Incident Management Team is considering every potential scenario and exercising an abundance of caution,” said Sean Strawbridge, chief executive officer of the Port of Corpus Christi.
