CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend received a steady dousing Thursday morning across the area.

We got a soaking this morning, and about the only thing folks could do was run for cover.

This downtown downpour was part of the same storm that drenched some parts of town.

Heavy rain like today's usually leads to this - street flooding along SPID.

We shot this video in the area of SPID and Everhart and when you see conditions like this, stay off the road.

We found one van that stalled in the high water. It was just one of several incidents like this that were reported during the worst of the storm.

It was a wet commute this morning on Airline Road near McCardle.

Fortunately, there were no reports of any major damage from high water during all this. Most of the swamped roads drained off quickly and were drivalbe again.

The water was a bit higher just around the corner from Airline on McCardle. This dashcam video provides a pretty good idea of how bad conditions were in that part of town.

There were plenty of white knuckles as folks navigated through the mess.
