CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Persistent southeasterly wind is bringing warmer temperatures and increasing cloud cover to the Coastal Bend this afternoon, and that trend will persist through midweek.

By early Thursday, colder air sweeps into the region, with Arctic air arriving some time Friday.

Intermittent cold rain will persist through Sunday night.

Models are in stark disagreement regarding how much cold air and how much rainfall will make it to the Middle Texas coast, but freezing temperatures are a good possibility early Sunday.

A series of upper-level disturbances will generate rain in the cold air Thursday, Saturday and again Sunday night.

Highs will be in the 70s through Wednesday, dipping to the 60s on Thursday before tumbling into the 50s and 40s Friday through Sunday.

Lows in the 50s and 60s early week will plunge into the 30s and 40s Thursday through Sunday.
