What a beautiful way to end out the work week. We’ve had plenty of sun and seasonal temperatures in the lower 80s with less wind and drier air in place.
Tonight will be another cool night with temperatures dropping into the middle 50s for much of the region, minus those communities right along the coastline. High pressure will promote clear skies and light winds early in the day.
For Saturday afternoon, the winds will start increasing a bit to breezy levels, but overall the sunshine will still be in full force as well as the humidity. Versus the winds having a northerly direction, they will switch right from the Gulf. Look for highs in the low to middle 80s.
Easter Sunday will feature a few more clouds, humid conditions and LOTS of wind. This will be in response to another low pressure system entering the Rockies. Sustained winds around 15-30MPH will be common with gusts around 40-45MPH. If you have those outdoor Easter plans, be sure you plan for the wind to be a nuisance. Otherwise, highs will be in the middle 80s and again on the humid side.
Early next week highs will remain in the 80s, but clouds will start increasing through Wednesday. Winds will stay windy too from the south-southeast around 15-25MPH.
A weak front will push through by Wednesday afternoon and prior to that passage, which won’t cool things down much if at all, we’ll see some isolated thundershowers in South Texas. Again the best opportunity for heavy rain and the chance of some severe weather looks to stay just north of us. We’ll monitor closely as we get closer to that time frame.
