Sunshine remains scarce this week

It wasn’t exactly the best conditions for Spring Break in the Coastal Bend this year, but we did manage a few days that warmed into the 70s and 80s.  On the flip side, we also had cooler than normal days with highs in the 50s and 60s with a few light to moderate showers to add to the mix.  This weekend was no exception to the latter with highs in the low 60s with chilly mornings in the 40s and 50s.

Tonight we’ll maintain cool conditions with a few light showers/drizzle possible especially for our southern counties as a weak disturbance moves in from the west.  Otherwise, mainly cloudy skies with lows in the low 50s will be common.  Winds: ENE 4-8 MPH

Monday the clouds will rule over the area with shower activity staying limited.  Highs will be a bit milder with a high of 69 in the city of Corpus Christi and low 70s out west.  Winds will pick up to breezy levels out of the east-northeast at 9-18 MPH.

Tuesday and Wednesday we’ll see the clouds stay in place, but some light shower activity will increase as a disturbance near the Gulf coast pushes moisture inland.  Rain amounts will vary widely with only a few tenths for those who get the activity.  We’ll warm into the low 70s by Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday, a weak frontal boundary stalls to our north and upper-level high pressure may give us a few more hints of sunshine.  These moments of sun will be scarce and in between with of days of clouds being prominent, but we’ll take what we can get.

Friday and into the weekend temperatures will moderate to the middle 70s, but winds will also increase and we’ll see some isolated thundershowers introduced to the forecast as another frontal boundary enters the northern parts of the state and pulls in moisture from the Gulf.  For now, the weekend is looking soggy, windy and humid.  There will be some who could pick up around half an inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain as we head into the weekend.

Have a great week!
