CORPUS CHRISTI –  We are waking up to a few showers and thunderstorms in the northern edges of the Coastal Bend. A frontal boundary is pushing through this morning. This is triggering some big thunderstorms across portions of the upper Texas coast. We will see the clouds clear out this afternoon leading to some rather pleasant weather conditions. Look for an afternoon high around 75 degrees with the winds shifting to the north at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Tonight the forecast calls for mostly clear skies and cooler temperatures. Expect an overnight low around 51 degrees. It will sunny and nice again on Friday with a daytime high around 70 degrees.

Another cold front will roll into South Texas this weekend. This will bring us another round of showers and cooler temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday. Daytime highs will only be in the 50’s. The rain is expected to linger through Monday. However, drier air will filter into the area for New Year’s Day. The forecast for the holiday calls for abundant sunshine with a daytime high around 60 degrees.
