Another round of fog tonight, lots of wind Thursday

We had plenty of moisture return off the Gulf of Mexico overnight and with increasing dewpoints, we some patchy dense fog in the area.  That’ll happen again tonight as visibility falls to around 0-4 miles over a good portion of the Coastal Bend.

A large upper-level system is spinning in North Texas at this time, resulting in cloud coverage here and a few spots of some mist and drizzle.  Nothing over the top and certainly nothing severe.  That system will continue to push east over the next 12-24 hours and eventually swing drier air into the area as the associated surface front will move through early Thursday morning and eventually clear out our skies and bring lots of wind.

Tonight we’ll look for partly cloudy skies and some patchy dense fog.  Motorists are urged to use caution.  Low: 56 Winds: WNW 3-6MPH

Wednesday the clouds will overall be decreasing from west to east and we’ll be in for some milder temperatures with highs pushing the low 80s.  Winds: WNW 7-14 MPH

Thursday morning a Pacific cold front will move in and cooler and drier air will filter in.  Winds will also increase in a big way out of the north-northwest with sustained winds around 15-30MPH with gusts approaching 40.  Residents may want to tie down loose objects and Christmas decorations.  Highs will be in the low 70s.

Winds relax by Friday and it will be very nice for the first day of Winter with lows in the lower 40s that morning and highs in the upper 60s.

Early next week, a weak frontal boundary will stall in the area and that will keep clouds and the chance of a few stray showers in the forecast on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Lows will be in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
