The weather over South Texas has been a bit unsettled and rollercoaster-like with strong winds, mild temperatures, dry air, then cool temperatures, then cold temperatures…and now we are going back on a trend back to milder temperatures and increasing humidity.
Plenty of mid and upper level clouds are swinging in from the west associated with a large upper-level disturbance sitting near Baja California. This moisture streaming overhead will last a few more days, but rain chances remain on the slim side.
Tonight, with the extra clouds, temperatures won’t fall as cold as they did last night, but it will still be chilly with a low in the middle 40s. Winds: Light & Variable
Monday will be similar to today with some high cirrostratus clouds overhead with hints of sunshine breaking through. Highs will be on the mild side with a high of 72 forecast. Winds: E 5-10MPH.
As the upper-level disturbance swings through the state from west to east, we’ll eventually get return flow off the Gulf and low-level moisture will increase. This will lead to a passing coastal shower on Tuesday, but most of us will stay dry. It will also lead to some patchy fog on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Use caution on the early morning commutes.
By Wednesday afternoon, sunshine will be plentiful and temperatures will warm close to the low 80s ahead of a Pacific front that will be moving in behind the upper-level trough exiting the state to the east.
Thursday morning the Pacific front will move through dry, winds will increase and highs will drop back down to the upper 60s to low 70s. Friday morning will be chilly again with lows in the low 40s.
