There’s wasn’t much in the way of heavy rain in the Coastal Bend this afternoon, but there were some spots of drizzle/light showers.  This lead to rainfall totals of a few hundredths up to a tenth of an inch of rainfall for some locations.  Most of that heavy rain is still offshore, but beginning tomorrow that will make its way for South Texas and the threat for locally heavy rainfall and some localized flooding will return.

Tonight: Mainly overcast, light drizzle/mist, turning to moderate showers early Thursday morning.  Low: 58 Wind: N 10-20 MPH

Thursday will be overcast with slightly milder temperatures and moderate to heavy showers and thundershowers moving in from the Gulf.  Locally heavy rain leading to some flooded streets will be possible.  Rainfall estimates have the greatest numbers offshore, but spots of 3-5+ inches will be possible near the coastline with less inland.  Averages for the entire area will be 1-3 inches. High: 66 Winds: N 10-20MPH

The heavy rainfall threat associated with the disturbance lingering near the Coastal Bend will push into Friday and localized flooding will continue to be an issue with the heavy thundershowers. High on Friday will make the lower 70s.  Winds: NNE 10-15MPH

Sunshine stays in short supply going into the weekend and at least light showers/drizzle stay with us each day too.  A frontal boundary will push into North Texas on Saturday and will sweep by South Texas early Sunday.  High pressure will build in behind it and reinforce the cool airmass that’s already in place.  It does not clear the clouds out though and it’ll remain cloudy with some showers and high temperatures will drop back into the upper 60s.

Hopefully by the end of next week we’ll see some sunshine return.
