CORPUS CHRISTI-We are starting our Sunday with some pretty heavy rain across portions of the Coastal Bend. The Flash Flood Watch for South Texas has now been extended until early afternoon. Motorists should use extreme caution if heading out onto the roadways this morning. The heaviest rain has been falling near the Coast. These are some of the hardest hit areas yesterday. This means flash flooding can occur very quickly. The good news is that we should start to dry out a bit this afternoon around Corpus Christi.

The forecast for today calls for mostly cloudy skies. We will see morning showers giving way to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Look for a daytime high around 88 degrees. Winds will be blowing out of the southeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Tonight we will see mostly cloudy skies and mild conditions. Expect an overnight low around 76 degrees. We will see warmer and drier conditions for much of the week ahead. Daytime highs will be in the lower 90’s with overnight lows in the mid 70’s. Isolated showers may return late week.
