More heavy rain is likely today across much of the Coastal Bend. A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect for all of South Texas through early evening. The watch will be continued for the western brush country through tomorrow morning.

The tropical wave will be moving inland today and this means the storms will start to taper off some late in the day. People should use extreme caution when out on the streets this morning and afternoon. Reports of flooded streets have come in from numerous communities in the area. A Coastal Flood advisory is also in effect through 7 pm tonight. We will be experiencing very high tides and dangerous rip currents. Water will likely be up to the dunes in many locations.

The forecast for today calls for showers and thunderstorms will locally heavy rainfall possible. We will see a daytime high around 85 degrees. The winds will be blowing out of the southeast at 10 to 20 miles per hour. Tonight we can expect mostly cloudy skies with a few more showers possible. Look for an overnight low around 73 degrees. The forecast for Sunday calls for only isolated showers with a daytime high around 88 degrees. Much drier and warmer weather conditions will return for much of next week.
